I'm not a huge fan of the game's default skin textures. They aren't particularly detailed in the groin and buttocks, and there are dark shadows in other places that are too heavy for my liking. I've offered default skin replacements before, but this version was created from scratch to fix my issues with the game's skins as well as serve as a perfect match for the new SimpleGens 2.0 anatomy.I created these skins to reflect how I wanted my sims to look in the game. I can't account for everyone's own personal taste, so I'm not offended if you choose to stick with the game's skins or use another CC creator's work!I've uploaded texture comparisons for the front and back view of each of the game's five skin textures (neutral, bony, thin, fat, muscular) to help you see what my skin replacements include.FEATURES & DETAILS:1) More detailed groin and buttocks. I've added iliac crest lines (on male textures) in varying intensities depending on the muscle/weight, as well as extra definition in the buttocks.2) Smoother shadows on arms. Default arms have weird shadows that stand out to my eye, so I've smoothed these out.3) Less intense upper thigh detail. The upper thighs on the bony/muscular/thin textures get a little too detailed for my taste, so I've reduced the strength of these lines.4) Less extreme bony/fat torso details. The details on these two textures are too strong for the meshes that accompany them (for example, the default back texture makes a fat sim look fatter than the shape of their body).5) Reduced shadows on the outside and inside of legs. The default skins have shadows where they would naturally fall when a sim is standing up, but sometimes these look weird when a sim is in another pose (especially laying down), so I reduced the intensity of these.6) Improved age detail on female elder textures. The default elder female skin texture is oddly smooth, under-detailed, and "young" compared to the default male elder skin texture. I've hand-painted a number of new wrinkles and details across the body - from the breasts to the belly to the knees to the arms - to make elder female sims look closer to their age.These skin replacements were created for SimpleGens 2.0 anatomy and work best with those designs. Using them with other anatomy will look different to the images above.If you don't want to use these default replacements but would like some of the improved appearance of the groin, you can use my 2.0 Groin Overlay to better blend between Simdulgence anatomy and other skins. I originally excluded the nipples to prevent bad texture artifacts/visual halo-ing happening when the breasts texture was layered over the underlying skin texture (which effectively doubles the nipples). I've made some tweaks and done some testing and I believe I've been able to greatly reduce or eliminate the weird artifacts, so I've added the nipple textures back to the skins.Both the Default Replacement skin textures and the optional Overlay textures have been updated.If you run into any errors or issues and need a nipple-less version, let me know and I can link to the older file in the comments.2026-06-12: Added female skin texture replacements. These replacements include all of the same ages/body types as the male versions, as well as a new set of details for the elder skin textures to make them feel more like an actual older person (compared to the default).There are new preview pictures of the female textures across the body shapes (Neutral, Bony, Fat, Muscular, Thin) as well as the Neutral body shape elder female textures. Although I've only highlighted the Neutral elder skin in the post, the package file contains edits of all elder body shapes (Bony, Fat, Muscular, Neutral and Thin).There are also optional female skin overlays, for players who prefer Maxis or another CC creator's default skin textures but want to use my skin textures on specific sims.2024-07-13: Fixed neck seam issues across multiple skin textures in the default replacement file. (I've attached a before-and-after picture showing the seam fix on max muscularity, where it was most noticeable, but the file contains fixes for multiple weight/muscularity textures.)2023-12-30: Added SimplePenis 2.0 texture to the optional overlay for compatibility with revealing clothing (the texture is already included in the default skins, so that file does not need an update).2023-12-12: Added an optional overlay version of the skin textures.
