Happy New Year
2023 in review has been one of many highs and lows for me. I was able to visit a long time friend over in Arizona, see the grand canyon and feel connected to a group of people who were complete strangers to me, but made me feel welcome in a way I haven't felt in a long time.
I was also able to go to Anthrocon for the first time thanks to the generosity of another dear friend. As someone who all too often feels disconnected from others after losing their IRL social group in 2020/2021, being able to meet other artists whom I'd known online, or people who knew me from my alias, and being able to feel like a complete human being. It's a feeling I cherish deeply, and I treasure the friend's I'd made from that trip and the new little online group we've made, letting me feel that connection, and remind me of that trip I'd love to repeat.
These are the things that I cling to during the bad times of crippling self doubt, or loneliness, or when I start to lose hope in the world at large.
And of course, I want to thank every one of you who have ever made me feel like someone special. Someone who made you feel inspired, or as someone you felt you could confide in, seek advice from, learn from, or share with.
You truly make me feel real.
I have a lot that I hope for in 2024, and I will try to keep my head up and stay strong as I work to accomplish them.
Thank you for never giving up on me, no matter how much I struggle sometimes.
Happy new year,
