1) If Liu Jin manages to separate the poison from his master’s dantian, would his morals allow him to study and absorb the poison mostly guilt free?
The poison is not just in Old Jiang’s dantian. It was also in his blood and other fluids. Liu Jin has a fair amount of it stored. It is not as strong as the original thing since Old Jiang did his best to neuter it as much as possible before he died, but it’s still very strong. The reason Liu Jin hasn’t done anything with it is not out of a moral objection. He just thinks it’s too dangerous
2) The Fleshcrafter once referred to the other side as the sacred lands. Is that official?
It’s not universal, but some people do use it.
3) Has there been an Emperor who has produced a Heart Devil? Or is it impossible for those past the Renegade realm to do so?
They absolutely can. A Heart Devil is the result of allowing your inner turmoil to get way out of hand. Emperors are better equipped to resist that, but they are not immune to it. You are never above suffering, unfortunately.
The war between humans and demons produced a few Emperors with heart demons. It was not pretty.
4) Are there known realms after the divine?
Nope.
5) Do the Fairies outside of Shao Zhilan have lovers/spouses?
With the exception of Bai Lianshi, they have all taken lovers at one point or another. Even Meng Yue. However, Shao Zhilan is the only one that actively keeps partners. For the rest of them, the part where they inevitably outlive them is a bit of a mood killer. Also, since the Divine Frozen Palace places less emphasis on clans, there is less pressure for them to marry and produce heirs.
As an aside, if Feng Gui had just fought Meng Yue in the Dead Plains when they were young, they might have ended up boinking.
6) How does Liu Jin's progression compare to his father and Old Jiang at his age?
On a pure cultivation level, Liu Jin is lagging a bit behind. However, Liu Jin is much heavier on the more esoteric aspects. His Dao, in particular, is way more pronounced than theirs were at that age. Trauma nerfs. Trauma buffs.
7) If Divinities are casual reality warpers, are they able to create life or even other worlds? If so, why do they stay on this one when there's a universe for them to explore?
The Divinities we have seen in the story aren’t on the level where they can create life. That’s actually pretty hard. It’s easier to change the meaning of down than it is to go all ex nihilo.
When you first turn into a Divinity, the first thing you spend a lot of time doing is learning the difference between yourself and reality. You are figuring out what you can do and how high and low you can go. That’s why so many Divinities are shut-ins. As you get deeper into Divinity, you start being able to do more, and things start opening up.
As for the deepest someone has gone, that’s for later.
8) Has Liu Jin viewed all the memory jades left to him by Old Jiang, or is he still procrastinating?
He has viewed all of them. I’m just not showing them all at once for dramatic purposes.
9) How big do you plan on making the harem? I know potential members aren't being spoiled, but can we know the number?
Probably six.
10) Will Liu Jin manifest any properties of the Demon Snake? It seems like the Dragon side of him is overpowering it, and the Poison attacks have been lackluster lately.
This is actually my bad rather than Liu Jin’s fault. His poison is actually really strong, but I feel it would be anti-climatic if he just spammed poison all the time for lethal damage and won, so everyone important always ends up having some way to deal with his poison.
But don’t worry! The snake part will get spotlight again eventually!
11) Is your ultimate goal to write full time?
I mean, that would be nice if it happens, and I do have lots of ideas I wish I had time to write.
12) What would happen if an emperor-level cultivator who had simply never practiced a given elemental attunement were to try to manifest that element? Could they do it at a high level through sheer will and power and e.g. what color of lightning could they produce, or what purity of fire, or such?
In general, if an Emperor tried to manifest any basic element without ever having trained, they’d be able to do it. It wouldn’t be difficult. Meng Yue could make simple fireballs. Feng Gui could throw some snow. It’s not a big deal.
It wouldn’t be at a high-purity, but it’d still be backed by the power of an Emperor.
That said, natural compatibility would play a factor. Feng Gui would have an easier time making lightning than water. It’d take him like three to four tries to reach gold lightning, for example.
13) What would happen if Liu Jin tried to make a soul fragment such that NHSG's sword was in the part that became the fragment?
He wouldn’t be able to. The sword is stuck in such a way that he cannot split it off as a soul fragment. Nine-Headed Snake God made sure he wasn’t getting that out anytime soon, mostly because he didn’t want it stolen.
It’s a family heirloom, you know?
14) What are the Sun Scrolls?
Okay so, the Sun Scrolls are a relic from before the Great War. Some flame scholars theorize that the Sun Scrolls contain information on the origins of the Eternal Flame and the Crimson Cloud and could shed light into their completed form.
The Feng clan sends their children to try to find it every generation (usually after they have reached the Heaven Realm). At this point, they have basically given up on finding them, so it’s more of a rite of passage.
15) Why choose this name for the story? Every time I try to recommend it to someone in person I feel stupid because it sounds like gibberish.
I understand this causes trouble for many people. Actually, it probably causes trouble for me, but I just have a fondness for nonsense words. Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious and all that.
As for the non-abreviated version of the title, it just seemed neat. A Very Cliche Xianxia Harem Story is the mission statement. Admittedly, I wasn’t expecting people to take the title as cynical. It’s not how I meant it because, well, I like cliches. I like them a lot.
16) Did Feng Zhuo actually end up being made the replacement Elder of the Medical Pavilion?
He’s doing his best to dodge that responsibility, so Elder Xue is still in charge.
17) What are Cao Bian's thoughts on Liu Jin? Any sentimentality for the apprentice of his old frenemy, or is it plain business for him?
His existence in general vexes him. Liu Jin is the legacy left behind by Old Jiang. However, because of who Old Jiang is, Liu Jin is also the legacy of his sister.
18) What are the McDonald's orders of the various Emperors and divinities?
We cannot do everyone, but:
Feng Shang orders a McFillet. Feng Gui rolls his eyes and orders a McRib. Meng Yue gets a Happy Meal to give Xiao Shuang the toy. Bai Lianshi has Bai Wen bring her all the desserts because she’s not eating at McDonalds. Nie Dan gets himself a double quarter pounder with cheese. Elder Xue has the spicy McCrispy, and Emperor Xiang only orders from the breakfast menu to get coffee with it.
