This is a continuation of "Changes in the Subway".The next morning, Andrew left his small apartment early and walked straight to his neighbors’ door. He was worried about May—or rather, about June and July, her new identities after her traumatic mitosis on the subway. Andrew had spent the whole night turning over the extraordinary coincidence of having met May before he even knew she was his new neighbor.
He knocked on the door with a certain unease. After all, he had no idea how the new twins were coping with their mutation.
The door opened almost at once.
“Andrew!” June said cheerfully, raising three hands in greeting. Her long serpentine tail moved elegantly behind her. She wore a tight sleeveless top, perfectly suited to leave her many arms free, along with a pleated skirt. “It’s so good to see you! Please, come in.”
July appeared behind her. She was wearing short shorts and a loose T‑shirt that barely concealed her four breasts. The tentacles on her head swayed slowly as she smiled at Andrew.
“It’s good to see you,” July said. “Thank you for yesterday—and sorry for wasting your time.”
Andrew let out a small, nervous laugh.
“It was nothing. It was just the right thing to do. I’m glad you’re both okay.”
“Yes, I think we’re doing pretty well for someone who went through mitosis yesterday,” June said. “Although I still have to get used to being ‘half snake.’”
“And I still have to get used to not having fingers… or normal hair,” July added.
“I guess it’s just a matter of time, girls. I’m glad things are going well.”
“Have you had breakfast yet? I can make you something, if you’d like,” June said.
That took July by surprise, though she managed to hide it.
“I’d love to, but I have to get to the university. Maybe some other time. Give my regards to your parents.”
After Andrew left, the sisters watched him walk away from the doorway. Suddenly, June spoke.
“I’m going to make him my boyfriend,” she declared categorically.
July nearly choked on her own saliva. “What?!”
“Andrew is cute and kind. I think the fact that he’s our neighbor and helped us is a sign of destiny, so to speak.”
July crossed her tentacle-like arms over her many breasts. “Well, I like him too.”
June slowly turned her head toward her. “I understand. We have almost the same tastes, but…”
“But what?” July asked, annoyed.
“Well, I was the upper half.”
“What is that supposed to mean?”
“It means I have the original head. The brain,” June tried to explain.
“That makes no sense!” July said angrily. “It doesn’t matter who had the head. We’re fifty-fifty of what May used to be.”
June’s tail struck the floor in irritation while July began waving her eight tentacles in a threatening manner. The argument was about to turn into a fight when their mother’s voice echoed from the hallway.
“Both of you, stop it!”
The sisters froze as their mother came through the door. She looked at them tiredly, holding a tray of folded clothes.
“I was trying to look on the bright side of you no longer being an only child, but it seems I was wrong.”
“Sorry, Mom,” the sisters said almost in unison.
“You two should be worrying more about what you’re going to do with your lives from now on instead of fighting over a boy,” she said sternly. “Your father and I had accepted that May would take a gap year while she decided what to study, but that does not mean we were going to accept a year of laziness. And now that there are two of you, you’ll have to figure out how to use this time. Paying for university for both of you won’t be easy.”
The sisters lowered their gazes.
“Yes, Mom…” they both said.
“Good. Now let’s take advantage of the fact that there are two of you and that you have so many limbs. You can help me with the chores.”
The two sisters followed their mother, but deep down, neither of them had any intention of giving up on Andrew.
That afternoon, as Andrew returned from university carrying a heavy backpack and a few books, June appeared just a few meters from his building, gliding elegantly along the sidewalk.
“Andrew!” she greeted him enthusiastically.
“Hi, June,” Andrew replied. “I’m surprised to see you outside.”
“Yes, well, Mom still won’t let us go too far, but there’s no problem with coming out to the sidewalk.”
She quickly took his backpack and books with her many arms. “Let me help you. You look tired.”
“That’s not necessary, really,” Andrew said, barely able to react to June’s speed.
“With eight arms, it would be a waste not to,” she said. “I think now that I’m a naga, I’m also stronger.”
Andrew only smiled at her. The truth was he was quite tired, and a little help from the pretty twin didn’t sound bad at all.
“I also made coffee… and something to eat. I thought you’d be tired when you got back,” June said. “If you have time, of course.”
“Really? A coffee would actually be great.”
“I’m glad. I felt bad that you couldn’t have breakfast with us this morning,” June said, her serpentine tail swaying happily behind her.
Meanwhile, from the window of the twins’ apartment, July watched the scene with growing irritation.
“That cheater…” she muttered.
Minutes later, Andrew was sitting in the living room while June arranged cups and plates and, at the same time, cleared the small coffee table, all with remarkable skill.
“It’s incredible how quickly you adapted,” Andrew commented. “It really looks like you were born with all those arms.”
“I surprised myself too. I think it’s a gift,” June said, smiling sweetly at him. “Having this many arms does have its advantages.” She moved closer to Andrew in a suggestive way.
Just then, July appeared from the hallway. She was wearing a tiny top that barely contained her four breasts and a black miniskirt that showed off her long legs. The high heels she wore only made her legs look even longer. Her hair-tentacles were braided together, giving the appearance of two long braids at the sides of her head.
“Hey, Andrew~” she said, sitting right beside him. “I’m so glad you came. I missed you.”
Andrew nearly dropped his cup when he saw the sexy mutant sister. “J-July! I… your sister invited me for coffee. I’m glad to see you’re doing well.”
She slowly crossed her legs. “Am I interrupting something?”
June looked at her with a silent fury she was barely managing to hide. “We were talking… Andrew and I.”
“Perfect. I want to talk too.” One of July’s tentacles picked up a cookie and brought it to Andrew’s lips. “Did you try these? They’re my favorites.”
Andrew accepted the cookie while trying not to let his eyes go straight to July’s double cleavage or her long legs.
June took a long sip of coffee, struggling to control her tail, which was lashing restlessly behind her.
The tense scene, with the two twins fighting for Andrew’s attention, lasted a few more minutes before their young neighbor said goodbye and returned home to rest.
As soon as he disappeared through the door, June turned furiously toward her sister.
“You shameless girl!” June said angrily. “What do you think you’re doing dressed like that?”
July raised an eyebrow. “What do you mean? These are clothes May always had. There’s nothing strange about me wearing them.”
“Since when did we wear four-inch heels inside the house?”
“Well, maybe I just want to make the most of my legs.”
June slapped her tail against the floor. “That’s funny. I didn’t remember May being such a slut, although I suppose it isn’t that strange, considering you’re mainly May’s vagina.”
July’s eyes flashed dangerously at her sister’s insult. “Excuse me?”
“You heard me.”
One of July’s tentacles shot forward and slapped June across the face.
June’s eyes widened with fury.
“H-How dare you?!” Her enormous serpentine tail quickly coiled around July’s body, trapping her.
“Hey! Let me go!” her sister protested as June lifted her off the floor.
July’s tentacles began striking her while the two struggled amid furniture and cushions.
“Andrew is mine! I saw him first!” June shouted.
“That doesn’t mean anything!” July protested. “He likes me more.”
“He only looked at you because you were dressed like some cheap flirt.”
“It’s not my fault you can’t wear heels.”
The sisters remained completely tangled with each other, rolling across the floor, until their heads crashed against a bookcase, forcing both of them to release their grip.
“Ow, shit!” July protested, rubbing the tentacles on her head.
“Okay, hey, let’s call a truce,” June said, trying to sit up while still dizzy from the impact.
July tried to fix her clothes. Her lower breasts had been exposed, and her heels had flown far away during the fight.
“We shouldn’t have fought like that,” she said.
“No, I think we went a little too far,” June said, looking at the mess in the living room.
The two fell into an uncomfortable silence for a few seconds.
“I don’t want to fight with you. After all… we’re almost the same person.”
“Yeah… we’re sisters,” July said. “I don’t want to fight with you like that again.”
“I agree,” June said. “But… I still want to win Andrew over.”
“And so do I.”
They looked at each other for a while before both let out a small, awkward laugh. June extended one of her many hands.
July stared at it for a moment, then used one of her tentacles, wrapping it around her sister’s wrist.
“Fair competition,” June said.
“Agreed. No sabotage, no dirty tricks,” July accepted.
The two smiled at each other warmly, though internally, both were already planning their next move.
