DESCRIPTION
In 1870, the US Army adopted the 1869 S&W No3 revolver as its first official cartridge handgun, replacing the 1860 Colt percussion 44 revolver. It was replaced only 3 years later by the 1873 Colt Single Action Army, then again in 1875 by a modified S&W No3, which is now known as the Schofield. This revolver was adopted by the Russian military in 1871, and the 44 Russian cartridge modernized revolver cartridge design becoming one of the more common cartridges of the "old west".YouTube link:https://youtu.be/fom48RMj-lIa
