And I'm Back.
I'm in kind of a nasty mood right now, I'm now a solo act again and this IS the last we will be seeing of Lexi. I keep telling myself not to get involved with creative partners, all they ever do is slow me down and eventually ditch me, and this time was no different.
I had a call with Haze this morning where we went over the details for a text game he'd gotten the framework done for, it was some pretty cool stuff and I was working on the art for it. I took a quick cat nap around noon because trying to be creative while tired never goes well for anyone. Woke up to this message from him:
", thanks for sending those over.
So I've been thinking about the Contender and DGB, and this project made me realize something today.
I need to take this universe solo. it's something I need to prove to myself, and build something that's entirely mine. It's got nothing to do with our friendship, just where I'm at creatively right now and I hope you understand."
I feigned understanding, but I admit... After the last two years of his indecision and being "busy" making our partnership an absolute slog, the vanishing for weeks on end, and just his overall hesitance to do ANYTHING EVER, I really wasn't interested in continuing any form of friendship whatsoever. I asked about what this meant moving forward, the answer I got was "Honestly relieved you get it! Quick clarity on my end for your last question, when I say solo, I mean the whole thing, distribution included. Anything that goes public goes out under my own channel. That's part of what entirely mine means for me right now.
And Keiko/Riley, technically is all yours. She came from you so she stays with you. I'll build my own character for that space, as awesome as she is."
Great. So he wants to go right back to where he started two years ago, cutting me out completely right as we're at the point things were actually gonna start HAPPENING.
So I admit. I'm actually pretty pissed off. Thankfully I'm a creative fellow, I'll probably have a new direction by the weekend.
