Dear supporters,
sorry for a bit of a delayed update post - we’ll incorporate the information that Waahnubis posted on the Discord into this update as well, so you’ll have it all in one place.
Some personal stuff
DES has been moving house over the last weekend and is currently setting everything up to continue working on the game.
One other thing that slowed us down, that Waahnubis didn’t want to post on the Discord as he wanted the consent from DES to talk about it first. DES has unfortunately been dealing with health issue affecting his eyes, which makes it hard to focus and work for longer time in front of a computer screen. As you can imagine this is affecting render work to a significant degree.
He’s slowly picking up pace again, but the priority is to get fully recovered first - as with every health topic, dragging stuff out usually makes it worse in the long run.
Game development status
the script for the next Lara update is finished and DES structured it for his rendering and animation workflow
renders you saw from the alley are a new scene that triggers if Lara has a special debt to pay
even if you don't have this scene our two "guys" will have another role to play 😉
Bug Fix Status
Waahnubis got a bit of "programming process lessons" from DES so he was able to fix typos and inconsistencies in the game himself, so expect a bugfix release soon
He was also able to finally track down the "coffee exit bug" that cut out the game after going to the cafeteria with Astrid
Halloween Extra
DES mentioned a Halloween extra in October, we looked at the content and as the extra was delayed to to reasons mentioned above we decided to incorporate this in the main game instead of releasing it as an extra side piece (more content in the game is better and the work for this is already done).
It was meant to give you more insights into the background and lore of the world - this is still the intention, it will now just come to Lara in a different way.
Here’s a picture as a little teaser:
Outlook
We continue working on the content for the next update - which at this point is primarily render work, animations and coding.
We are thankful you for your continued support as always.
Thank youThe PixDES Team
