PHOENIXES v16 is finally ready, sorry for the wait.
Before I started working on this update, my plan was very clear — I wanted to slack off. I felt I had to, and I had very good reasons for it — I had some health issues. If I don’t want to end up in the emergency room again and burn through several months of my Patreon income, I really need to reduce the amount of time I spend on PHOENIXES.
So I came up with a very relaxed plan. I wanted to add some simple things in v16 first — things with low content weight but that I could at least mention in the update report, like girls' biographies, Novella’s mental evaluations, things like those.Then I’d do a few easy-to-complete erotic scenes, such as finishing some unfinished subplots. After that, I’d add a small number of short new erotic scenes that don’t advance the main story, and the update would be done.
However, once I actually started working on this update, that plan completely fell apart. I threw all those earlier ideas out the window and once again worked just as hard as I did on previous updates.
To be honest, I just don’t want to let people down. There are still many storylines in the game that haven’t been developed yet, and some that haven’t even properly begun. I can see that people are looking forward to new developments for each character. I felt that choosing not to advance any storyline in v16 — or only advancing them by a tiny amount — would be betraying those expectations.
So this update still contains a great amount of new main-story content. I focused on continuing Alnilam’s story, because out of all the options I had (Kemuri, Alnilam, Enyora, XXX), this one was relatively easier. Her story had progressed quite far, the overall structure was already settled. I didn’t need to rack my brain to figure out how to reach her next milestone.
In v16, Alnilam will join the club as your secretary. It may sound a bit unbelievable, but I think this is a reasonable and necessary development for the main storyline.
At the same time, Cassy’s story also received a little but noticeable progress. There’s still some time before she reunites with you, but now you know what she’s been busy with. Some questions — such as what exactly happened to her homeland — are also answered in this update.
In addition to that, Heather, Molly, Juliana, Sorring, and Osonia all received new erotic scenes as well. This update contains the largest number of animated scenes so far, along with over 1,200 new images, making it one of the biggest updates in PHOENIXES history.
I also experimented with some new narrative techniques in this update — for example, using 2D images in places that are hard to express with 3D cameras, or when emphasizing a character’s cuteness. However, since I ended up focusing all my limited time and energy on the core content of the update, I wasn't able to complete those minor tasks that were originally in the plan (such as girls' biographies). I’m very sorry about that.
By the way, my physical condition is much better now. Please don’t worry about me.
