Hey guys, continuing where we left off last month on our environment scene. We will now be moving on to laying out our different terrain heightfields, and adding some atmospheric perspective to our scene. I know some people have trouble using the global fog/atmosphere, and it can be a bit tricky to use. So I hope this helps dispel some of the confusion, once you know how it works you can very quickly add a bit of atmosphere to your landscapes.
Once the atmosphere is tuned in for our landscape I move on to the scattering of assets. This will be the focus of the rest of the this months tutorial. I will start with the initial instancing of our assets using the Heightfield Scattering SOP, and the Heightfield Mask SOPs like the Mask by Feature SOP to control where our scattering occurs. In the next part I will be continuing the scattering process and go over more advanced nested scattering using point constraints.
Project files are linked below. Thanks again for all the support, I hope you are enjoying this environment project series as much as I am. Have a wonderful week!
