shed blood demos/early versions

A lot of the songs on shed blood were reworked significantly a few times before release. Sardonica in particular had maybe 4 or 5 different versions dating back to mid-2016 (it was originally written during Void Fantasy for a game project that never happened) - I'd love to do a post entirely about the revisions that track went through. For now, though, here are some early versions of abyss55199794 and void fantasy (the song). 

abyss55199794 in particular started out as a completely different idea, at a completely different tempo, but i just wasn't feeling it so i ripped out the vocals, stretched them to a slower bpm, and rebuilt the track around it completely. A few of the looping samples from the original show up here and there, but otherwise it's a totally new instrumental.

void fantasy was also reworked, but not as significantly - its quiet beginning section and slow buildup was actually a last-minute decision a few days before release since I wasn't really happy with the lack of dynamics the upbeat, synthpop-y original version exhibited.

Anyway, you can find both early versions attached below! I'm looking forward to doing more posts like this in the future, too, as I go through the sessions and dig up more early versions & scrapped ideas for songs that made it onto the album.
