DESCRIPTION

Hello dear Patrons and Followers! 😎

I present you the first real architectural asset done in the engine, but first, I will show you some concept arts done upstream. I was away from home for a couple weeks so I drew the environments by hands on a good old notebook with blue pencil, ink pen, and gray-tone markers. Here's what i did:

Revamped Karyn's office πŸ”Ό

Mermesii's inner gates designs πŸ”Ό

Mermesii's mansions and condos πŸ”Ό

All these concept are things you will see in the upcoming chapters and probably as game content. Once I came back home and accessed my workstation, I choose on of the designs and started working on it in unreal engine (can you guess which one I did? 😊). I learned again some useful things along the way, created a bunch of procedural functions to make my own material variations for the best performance cost as well as a better fitting style, it was very fun building that mansion, and now I can start cutting it into pieces to make prefabs and accelerate the creation process of future buildings of similar style. Here's a bunch of screenshots

As you can see, it is not 100% finished, there's a couple flaws, it's lacking decorations, and the interior is not made (not important right now). I'm still in the process of finding the perfect workflow. The decorations will be procedural and fed by a world-position driven constant, which will create random variations without me having to manually intervene (pretty handy, I'll show you when it's ready). This will help me later on when I build large-scale city scenes, and I still have the plants system to build. But with this, I have enough to resume working on Lila's diary to make the missing scenery of the next pages.

That's it for now, now I have to do the overdue monthly links maintenance and switch to drawing!

Hope you like! πŸ’–
