The first installment of a cross project with Avis Sapiens; an exploration of mannerisms powerful to building Bro identity.
"A mannerism, you see, is a habitual gesture in the way we speak or behave.
And mannerisms are very powerful. They act as a communication to others; because our mannerisms tell people a lot about us. And they tell us, about ourselves too. The brain… the nervous system, is always watching how we act, and speak, especially about ourselves. And it is constantly evaluating; our safety, and our sense of comfort, in seeing how we act.

So our mannerisms actually reinforce our identity. By subcommunicating, to that watching eye… who we are, and who it thinks we want to be.
And when you think about it - when you can think again, I know you agree that we evaluate others by their mannerisms, the same way. Even if only unconsciously, that same way you listen.
We evaluate how confident people are… how secure, how together, how comfortable with themselves… by many aspects of their presentation. Including their mannerisms.
Have you ever met somebody and just felt a bit… off about them, a little uncomfortable, before they’d even opened their mouth? Before you knew anything about them? Perhaps that was because of their mannerisms; perhaps they looked shifty… closed-off… afraid, or maybe aggressive…?
And on the flipside, when you think about the kind of guy who’s become the centre of attention, the bright light every moth is drawn to; aren’t his mannerisms quite the opposite?
Open. Broad. A man who takes up space, unafraid to; and there’s something hot about it, too, the way a man like that… dominates the space he’s in.
That’s why people say posture can be hot! It seems silly - but it’s very true. Body language is a rich communication all on its own…"
Some mannerisms are just... really bro-coded, you know? They're like an advertisement (a Chadvertisement? no...) to a dude's bro identity.
