A new way to learn TFT? - MetaTFT New Features and Set 8 Roadmap

DESCRIPTION

Hi Patrons. Set 8 is live and with it being a new set and the end of the year, it's a good time to reflect and plan ahead. We’re still growing and have hit our highest visitor numbers yet over the past few days (and thankfully all the new infrastructure we’ve built has been holding up). We’re continuing to actively develop the site, and want to share a few of our new features.

TFT Vods

Our first is a TFT Vod library - which you can get early access to here. Ever finished a game and wondered if you were playing your augment correctly, or how other players might play that comp? With the TFT Vod library, you can search for any unit, trait, or augment and find corresponding Twitch vods, with approximate timestamps for each stage. This will also be linked to the comps page, so if you stumble across a new comp you want to learn, you can quickly see if any high elo streamers have played it recently. You can also search for a specific streamer and get a breakdown of their recent games with a link to each game in their vod, if you prefer to use it that way. This will be rolled out publicly in the next day or so.

Augment Comparison

We’ve also already rolled out an Augment Comparison tool last week, as an extension of the augments page. Our plan with this is to build an interface that makes it quick and easy to find the best augment to take in any scenario. We’ve focussed on making the search interface as quick to use as possible, and will likely add more data to this page over time, such as performance with specific comps or traits.

Early Comps

Our next feature in the works is an early comps page. This isn’t quite ready yet and the final design may change a bit, but here is a mock-up that we put together a few weeks ago (before we got side-tracked by Set 8 launch). This will most likely be a Patron-only feature, as we feel that Patreon should be for users that want access to more data and more powerful tools than is normally available through the Riot API. Our plan is to have this ready to go live in January.

Roadmap

Beyond that, we have a rough roadmap for the next few months, although things might change:

Update existing features with more Hero Augment stats. In particular, focus on an easy way to find variations of a comp that feature your hero augment champion.

Produce some more written content/guides (if anyone is high elo and wants to write for us, or knows someone that might then please get in touch)

Improve our metadata & tooltips process, add language support

Make our app more performant and easier to develop with - paving the way for more app features

Player profiles - we plan to integrate with app data for really detailed match breakdowns and personalised stats

If there’s anything else you’d like to see then please let us know!
