Here’s a quick video about an e-ink weather station display. This product is a metaphor for how my week went - good intentions but poor execution.
Here’s the video: https://youtu.be/rpwClM4woGY
The reason you’re watching this one now - if indeed you are, is because my plans for the week haven’t exactly panned out.
Is ‘YouTuber’s block’ a thing? If it is, it seems to manifest itself in a manner similar to Dartitis, failure to launch. It starts when I get the feeling that whatever I’m working on is going to turn out to be worthless rubbish, so I then move to working on something else instead. However then I sense that this new thing will end up being worse than the first project. I worry about my week evaporating with nothing to show for it. I notice how other YouTubers I watch are somehow able to put out complicated, interesting and lengthly videos far more frequently than I am able. I wonder if I've lost it, if I've got too old, or if I even had 'it' in the first place. Finally I end up recording a review of an e-ink weather station to prove to myself that I haven’t totally forgotten how to make videos completely.
I do hope to have something a bit more worthy to show next time. I think I’ll put this one out mid week though, since it’s not really a proper tentpole video.
Anyway I hope you’re not spiralling as well, take care and have a good week.
UPDATE: Re-uploaded to correct typo.
UPDATE 2: Unlisted the video and made it exclusive to Patreon. The reason is because everything that was wrong with this device when I reviewed it has been fixed/changed/sorted. That meant the video was misrepresenting the current functionality of the product to any potential customers. In light of this it just didn't seem right to keep the video up any more. Besides, it was already an unpopular video, so there would be no value in adding a whole new second half.
