DESCRIPTION

Hey Everyone!

Today we bring you a very special dev update, and one we've been sitting on for quite some time!

As you may or may not know - Melvor Idle 2 will follow an actual storyline from Level 1 to Level 120 via the new Quests system. You'll be able to immerse yourself in the world of Melvor, and take on some of the toughest challenges in the game.

Today we bring you a very special video - An Introduction to Melvor Idle 2's Story.

The story of Melvor Idle 2 is set many centuries after the events that occurred in Melvor Idle 1. This video provides insights into the events that have unfolded since then, and leads directly into the story of Melvor Idle 2.

The video will eventually be released to the public in the future, but as a thank you for your support over the Alpha period, I'd like to give you the first look!

We hope you enjoy it!

🏋️ What the team have been working on

Here’s what the team has been working on since our last post!

DevelopmentMalcs:

Finalised most of Herblore - Recipes, potion bonuses, skill balance, interval mechanics etc.

Finalised most of Thieving

Also implemented a new mechanic into Thieving for testing (Will talk about this soon)

Has been working on Agility now, which requires some mechanical changes to how its trained.

Coolrox:

Continued to work on all of the features needed for Combat and other upcoming features, including:

Lots more work on stats!

Added a loot history tracker, allowing you to view all the drops you’ve receive during Combat for the last 15 monsters fought.

Added support for optional conditions in Goals/Triggers

Added total rune cost menu to Combat (Shows what runes are being used and their quantities)

Fixed many bugs (one of them was completely stopping Combat Stances from applying their bonuses 👀)

Adjusted Food system to be separated via Components, allowing bonuses to only apply if equipped to that Component (Eg. Combat, Thieving, Agility etc)

Game DesignPrat:

Continued to implement and adjust content for Combat and Thieving - still testing, tweaking, and reporting bugs.

Also worked on balancing drop rates for Monsters.

ArtworkTapi:

Still focused on Combat Backgrounds! This is a big undertaking (especially getting the tiling right), but it’s going to be an amazing addition to the game once it’s done.

Ash:

Switched focus to Monsters this week! There’s a huge amount of Monsters being added with this update. Check them out below!

Conclusion

Thanks for checking out this week’s post! Let us know what you think of the video - we’ve been really excited to show it off!

As always, we’ll be hanging around on Discord.

See you around!
