Ever dreamed of driving a bus in ETS2 maybe with a real route made up of stops and passengers getting on and off?
Now you can!
As a Patron, you can try a preview of the new feature that adds simulation of bus routes.
How does it work?
First of all, find a bus! In Single Player you can use one of the many mods available, while in TMP, until August 26 you can buy it from a dealer.
To open the Lines Manager press ALT + SHIFT + B. Take some time to configure it properly:
you can choose the voice that will recite the stops and change what it says. The voices are based on the Windows Speech system (to install new ones, open the Speech Settings directly from Windows).
Then, define the keys to open and close the doors. The button to open the doors also corresponds to the button to ACTIVATE the stop, i.e. to confirm that you want to let passengers get off or on.
Default: open doors with Y, close doors with U.
Many mods allow to physically open the doors with the "Open Right Window" key and close them with the "Close Right Window" keybind.
Once the route is selected, the Route Helper will appear (which can be opened and closed with ALT + SHIFT +R).
Some key concepts:
- Routes are generated automatically and with a minimum of randomness, don't expect them to be totally accurate because sometimes you may find a route that doesn't totally make sense as a route.
- When you are at the stop, on the Route Helper, the corresponding dot will start blinking
- To activate the stop, when the dot is blinking, press the door open button when the vehicle is completely stopped.
- When you activate the stop, you should hear the voice reciting, for example "Dortmund, next stop Berlin".
- At the end of the ride, another voice warns that the ride is over and invites everyone to get off the bus
- The door open and close buttons are also associated with corresponding sounds, many mods do not have sounds related to these events
- Stops are always in Bus Stations, or if the city does not have them, in Service Stations (where you repair your truck).
More features will be added in the future, and especially the possibility to create your own routes will be given.
To get the new version, download the OPK below and double click on it. The version is 2.2.40.5
Remember this is an ALPHA version so it contains some bugs or act strangely. If you have some problem, feel free to open a ticket.
