Okay, if last month was cutting it close, this is giving me flashbacks to my college days of trying to sneak in assignments before missing the deadline of 11:59:59 PM! As 2025 comes to a close, I hope you all very much enjoy my final story of the year! This story will be publicly released on Saturday, January 31st, 2026. Ruby Rose, grumpy and frustrated by her team's lack of Christmas spirit compared to her own, makes use of an experimental new type of Dust, intended to help deter Grimm by influencing emotions. One person can infuse the Dust with their aura while experiencing certain emotions, and then anyone who inhales or ingests the Dust will start to temporarily feel the same emotions imprinted on it.
However, due to not knowing exactly how it works, and being a bit overzealous about making sure that she doesn’t put in too little, Ruby instead ends up pouring in far, far too much of her aura into the Dust. Oblivious to her mistake, she sets the Dust up to fall on someone when they walk into the dorm, and then leaves. Eventually, Blake and Weiss are unfortunate enough to be the ones to spring the trap, and due to the overload of aura, they find themselves turning into identical, extra-christmas-sy copies of their cute, bubbly, spunky team leader.
