hey pals! sorry for only just getting a chance to share some more updates for ya! I've mostly been tied down with commissions and family stuff this month (big big congrats to my little brother getting married this month!!), but I've gotten to poke at lots of tiny projects this month that I'm excited to share some teasers for while I work on some larger videos to share everything about them!!
Recently, I've gotten really into pixel art as I've been doodling around in flipnote studio and asesprite.
I've also been playing a lot of Animal Well (again lol) and this really cool pico8 game inspired by it called Moss Moss (really recommend Moss Moss if you want to spend 15-40 minutes covering a mysterious little world in moss). At some point, I got inspired to make a little digital desktop pet in Godot where you use it like a little journal to tell it what you're doing throughout the day, and the more consistently you talk to it, the more moss and flowers grow on it!
Once I got it working well enough, I decided it would be super fun to add a creature collecting mechanic where random critters could appear once you finish growing the rock for the day!
These have been super fun to make, and I've found myself using this little game a ton as a habit tracker, journal, notebook, and timer to help me stay on track and avoid getting too distracted with all the stuff that so many companies have spent so many billions of dollars engineering to be as addictive as possible (:
Godot is able to serve little html front ends from the client, which means you can make a little web ui that can interact with all resources in Godot! So even though the godot client is mostly just a hovering borderless window showing my rock and a timer, I can open the web ui on my phone and see a calendar of my past days journaling and growing flowers!
This has mostly been a personal project to help me be more mindful throughout the day, but I might see about releasing it if a lot of pals wanna try it out!
Other than that, I kicked off a Game Jam with my pal GetMadz this month that has been going so stellar!! I don't want to spoil the surprise, but I'll share some random screenshots and leave you with the mystery of it hahaha
Ok! I've said too much! Last thing I've got to say is I'll be doing my best to have all the sticker club stuff into production by April 14th! I unfortunately have not been in the best spirits the last couple months, but I'm doing my best to take care of myself and find my way back to being excited about being online. Thanks so much for all your patience with me and my work, I appreciate you all forever!!
