And now let's talk movies and shows, my favorite!
-Supernatural: Season 1 and 2 are shot very dark and grungy and they do a good job of telling scary stories, as much as they can for network TV. It feels very much like a 90s horror
-Hocus Pocus: Cuz duh, when I was a kid this movie was full of all the autumn and spooky vibes. It's a dream come true.
-Scream: Watch at least the first one. Growing up when this movie came out I had nightmares for weeks. Also, every boy I knew was dressed at Ghost Face for the next 5 years lol.
-American Horror Story S2 "Asylum": I have no idea why but I love a good horror story in a old insane asylum. The season also adds a weird scifi twist to it but either way its still so creepy that it gives me nightmares to this day.
-Cargo: I just watched this movie! It's a really cool twist on zombie stories, stars Martin Freeman and has a nice bittersweet ending that made me cry just a little bit.
-The Faculty: Is one of my favorite horror scifi movies of the 90s with Josh Harnett and Elijah Wood. Good monster movie.
-Scream the TV Show, S1: S2 is OKAY, but S1 I feel really plays with what the movies were all about and sets them in a pretty good ridiculous team drama.
-The Babysitter: This is just an all around good slasher film with 80s vibes to it. Lots of blood and gore beware. And they have a sequel coming out this Thursday on Netflix, so excited!
-The Craft: Again, I love me some good grudge of the 90s and this is full of witchy vibes, spooky lighting and just an evil malicious story line.
-Sleepy Hallow: One of my favorite halloween stories. It's just a good classic, so so creepy and one of my favorite Johnny Depp characters. The coloring is cool too, makes the film feel really old, dark, cold and dead.
-The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: It's all the gothic campy horror witchy vibes we have wanted as kid. Or at least I did. I've always wanted to be a witch and live in the cool old gothic victorian house that Sabrina does. Def okay without signing my soul over to Satan though lol.
-Stranger Things: is a big DUH. All the spooky vibes, 80s vibes, and a great monster mystery with so much jump scares.
-It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown: This movie makes me feel like a kid again and I usually have to watch it while I carve my pumpkin for the year :)
-Halloween: Is such a silly movie, but it's one of the original slasher movies and I still enjoy the spooky autumn vibes it gives me every time I watch. Also, if you want to make movies, this film is a great example that you can and should!
-Casper: The one with Christina Ricci and our President Bill Putman (If you've seen Independence Day than you know). It just makes me feel like a kid again.
-Halloweentown 1-3: Again, I always wanted to be a witch growing up so seeing it come true for Marnie that reflected the PG-13 fun colorful way of it makes me super happy and I just love being apart of the universe. Yes I am a big kid what can I say?
Alien: I have no idea why, this is my favorite horror film of all day and I watch it every year on Halloween. Even being from the 80s, it still holds up and scares me!
House on Haunted Hill: I love this one because it takes place in a Haunted Asylum and everyone is trapped and they realize ghost are trying to kill them. Its just a good 90s/early 2000s vibe, its creepy, dark and a little rauchy. One of my favs. The score and soundtrack is killer.
-Practical Magic: For again, all my witchy needs.
