About 15 years ago, there was a trial over gay marriage, the Prop 8 trial, and it was videotaped. But the tapes of that trial were kept under lock and key because anti-gay groups didn't want anyone to see how badly they did in court. So with the tapes of the trial locked up, other groups did dramatic recreations -- they started with the transcripts from the trial, and they acted them out. Those tapes were finally released just a couple of years ago, and I want to compare one of the recreations to what actually happened in the trial, and talk about why those differences exist and why they're important. Especially because a lot of the stuff that you see in the recreation is so WEIRD.
