The moment is almost upon us ladies and gentlemen. Pure 2.0 with actual, proper, good LCS support is nearly at hand. And with it, C13 AEGIS 2.0 is here to set the standard once again.

Firstly, I'd like to give major props to Peter Boese, who has had a difficult job of navigating the new rendering paradigm to bring us something truly spectacular. I've heard silent murmurings about default WFX on LCS being superior to Pure, and I guess to each their own, but the only thing better than Pure LCS has been Pure Gamma (IMHO). Well, that time is swiftly drawing to a close.

With Pure 2.0, LCS is now evidently the way forward. Yes, there remains the issue of old content with wacky dirty fix shader values that worked great on gamma, that now needs fixing, and yes that's a pain. But tomorrow is a brighter day, and it's worth the work to get us there.

So what goes into adapting a filter to LCS? Well, you'd be surprised, but a lot less than expected. Rather than a full rewrite, it's mostly been (and still is) a question of reconfiguration. C13 AEGIS algorithms have proven surprisingly robust through this transition. Sure, exposure, glare, world lighting and a few more minute details got broken, but nothing needed rebuilding from scratch.

Which is a great relief - to me, because that would've meant a mountain of work, and to you because achieving LCS looks that are better than Gamma across the board, would've required a few months of extra waiting. But the best performing, looking, and most consistently gorgeous filter will still be here for you!

Now, I feel like I'm in the final polish stage, and should the skies be as clear as they seem at the moment, I expect smooth sailing and a release very near to Pure 2.0

With this we're also closing the chapter on Pure Gamma, but there is exciting news on that front as well, keep an eye out for info soon.
