MagicaCSG Beta 0.6.6: Group Mirror and Smooth Mirror
DESCRIPTION

Group Mirror

  • Each group has its own local coordinate for mirroring and pivoting.

  • Transformation tools and menus are refactored to support this feature.

  • This feature will also support merging/importing objects with mirrored primitives in the future. (Currently, one object can only have one global mirror plane, so it's impossible to merge two objects with different mirror planes.)

Smooth Mirror

New Helix Implementation

Minor Fixes and Improvements

  • Fixed the artifact when rendering flat surfaces in orthogonal view in some setups.

  • CPU and GPU usage is down to 0% when the program is idle.

  • The size of Drag 'n dropped primitives is proportional to the viewport.

  • Reference images can be selected and transformed from the Shape editor.

  • Snap rotation and align axes in Local Space will align axes to the parent group.

  • Double-click a group in the tree view will select all children strokes within the group but except the group itself.

  • Sweep mode has sharper edges at lower resolution. The sweep spline (rectangle, hexagon, triangle profile, line shapes) only becomes "fatter" in previous version 0.6.5 (which has a larger minimum "Round"), so you can increase Round of sweep splines to recover models made in 0.6.5. (*The sweep splines with Sphere and Capped Cylinders profiles are not affected in the previous version.)

Deprecated Features

  • Passthrough mode for groups is temporarily deprecated due to complexity.

  • Bezier mode for cubes and triangles is deprecated (which can be replaced by the Bezier polygon)
