The royal presence chamber was filled with a dignified, if entirely absurd, tension. Queen Anne IV sat upon a regal cushion made of the finest silks, but today, what's important is that she only was a shadow of her former vertical glory: her Majesty’s famous legs were completely gone—leaving her looking like a very regal, very grumpy bowling pin.
Princess Marie Louise capitalized on the moment instantly, her own beautiful legs carrying her across the room in a single, sweeping stride.
"Oh, Maman," Marie Louise teased, "How the mighty have fallen. It seems the great Queen Anne is officially defeeted. How do you expect to run the kingdom when you can’t even run?"
Queen Anne pouted like a kid. She shifted her pelvis angrily on the cushion. "Silence, girl. Our royal authority does not stand or fall on a calf muscle."
"I don't know, Maman," Marie Louise giggled, performing a dramatic, hip-hinging bow. "A JambeLongue without legs is just a head on a cushion. You’re practically a commoner with a nice hat. I suppose I’ll have to step up and take the throne, since you don't have a leg to stand on!"
The Queen let out a majestic huff, her crown wobbling. "We are still your mother, Marie Louise! Do not make us... wobble in your direction!!"
What happened there!? Why is Queen Anne IV now just a wobbling pelvis? did she had an accident? Is Princess Marie Louise responsible of her predicament???
To be honest, no Jambelongue ever reigned without legs... Guess she'll have to give up the throne to her daughter the Princess sooner than expected! ^^
