EPISODE REPORT:Naturally, animation hasn't progressed much, but backgrounds are now completed. Watching the current edit, I realised the episode is gonna need a bit of post production, so once the animation is wrapped (in about 3 weeks) I'll work out how much time I need for post. (Not more than a few weeks.)
STORY:I'm really happy with how these scripts came out. It's a 6-episode run that tells a pretty big story in 6 parts. All the main characters factor into the story heavily, and they each have an episode to star in. Everything we've been planning for these characters ended up being included, and it all serves a singular narrative. Guess that's all I can say for now.
SCRIPTS:We've never gone into a production with a fully complete story before. For early episodes, I wanted to keep things loose enough for actors and animators to contribute while we figure out our voice. That made for a much tougher production though, with scenes being on hold while we wait for voices or storyboards to be locked in, and a lot of rewrites. Now that the show and character dynamics are clearly established, it's made sense to write out the later episodes in their entirety. I think this will make production on the future episodes much smoother, and storyboards for episode 2 and 3 will commence right after episode 1 is out.
