Each month, I try and pass along the generosity you show me by employing other artists to create a variety of illustrations, portraits, magical items and other works of art that can be used in your games at home, whether they be homebrew or official modules.
This week, I wanted to highlight one of those pieces -- the depiction of a part of the town of Phandalin -- a simple stone shrine to Tymora, the goddess of good luck, that rests near the edge of the small town square. This scene was done by Ha Art.
The Shrine of Luck is managed by Sister Garaele, who resides in a home nearby (pictured to the back left of the shrine in the illustration). It is one of the only temple/shrines in the small town, and frequented by travelers and townsfolk alike, especially during dark times.
I created a map for both the shrine, as well as an interpretation of the Sister Garaele's home, which I decided to make a little larger than one might come to find a dilapidated version of Phandalin. I find that these types of changes make the location more interesting, more accessible and more useful for long-term play, where the state of the surrounding town can grow and improve without having to swap out buildings or maps along the way.

So, how I can use this location?
Module Adventure - if you are running the Lost Mine of Phandelver series, then this is a location mentioned and used within the town of Phandalin. Players could have encounters here with Sister Garaele or other NPC's in town, and they could certainly make prayers at the temple when the party is feeling like they may need some of the lady's favor.
Homebrew - If you are running a homebrew, then this can simply be a local village shrine and the home of the cleric that oversees it. I dressed her house in such a way that the cleric could potentially offer information or clerical services to the party, should they be in need.
