DESCRIPTION

Earlier this month, I released the Xonthal's Village Map Pack from Rise of Tiamat that introduced a small village on the edge of a mysterious hedge maze. The location is mentioned in the module, but no map is provided of the village or any of the building interiors.

The village has a couple locations of interest, most notably the Black Flagon Tavern owned and operated by a halfling innkeeper, Lura Fenwick, and Droun Trading, a general store and stables owned by the Zhentarim agent posing as a town merchant. I also decided to include a few other houses and outbuildings, to give you some options for players to meet townsfolk, visit their home and have either social or combat encounters in both the exterior and interior spaces of the village.

The Map Pack consists of [1] Large PNG Tile of all of the 7 building interiors I created, as well as [5] Small PNG Tiles of the individual buildings (or groups of buildings) that you could use independent of the village should you wish.

And here is the PNG tile with all of the buildings:

Village Home #3

As usual, we have a great sprite of the Black Flagon Tavern innkeeper, Lura Fenwick, by Katsudon Art.

HOW DO I USE THIS MAP?

Whether you are using Xonthal's Village for the Rise of Tiamat module, or as a location in your homebrew world, the building interiors can create a more immersive setting for you and your players. Players can now stable their mounts, visit the store, relax in the tavern and even go and have some conversations with a few of the local townsfolk about strange goings-on they've witnessed near the abandoned tower in the distance.

You could also use any of the interiors as a one-off structure/setting for scenes that you want to build yourself, in any village or city.

I hope you enjoy the setting and can use it to create some great adventures and memories!
