Woohoo! It’s black & blue day! :D This time you get 4 pages, but HOLY SHIT, those last two were EXPENSIVE. Both of them took around ten hours each. OTL So much for: “I’m looking forward to the bathroom scene, it’ll be so much faster!” XD
Well… apparently not when Derek decides to go on one of his philosophical adventures. XD Honestly, I don’t even know if you can see those ten hours on the page.
Like I said before: starting with Volume 8, I’m going to try simplifying things a little. xD I still want the comic to look great, of course, but I’d also like to work a bit faster so the plot can move along a little quicker. Otherwise I’ll still be drawing this story in twenty years. 🙈 And I have to admit… it makes me slightly nervous when I read comments online like: “Isn’t this supposed to be a dystopian sci-fi story??? When are we getting fights again?” XDDD
The thing is… it really isn’t a dystopian sci-fi story. That’s just the setting. At its heart, this is a story about… love. :3
Which brings us to today’s update. MAN, I’M SO ANNOYED I DIDN’T FINISH JUST ONE MORE PAGE! XD Then this little narrative thread would’ve been wrapped up (more or less), and something really cool would’ve happened. X,D Instead, you’ll have to survive this awkward halfway point.
What Derek is trying to say is: we’re happiest when we’re allowed to be ourselves—and when other people accept us as we are. No matter where. No matter how. We’re social creatures. In the end, the only thing we truly have is our connection to other people.
And honestly? Even if it sounds strange to people who don’t relate… BDSM is EXACTLY one of those places where you completely expose yourself (emotionally, I mean! XD), stand there vulnerable, and hope to find acceptance and affection. I think it’s one of the activities that illustrates that idea most clearly. It’s almost like a shortcut - a cheat code - not only to having an exciting sex life, but also to learning an incredible amount about yourself and about other people. XD
Honestly, I feel a little sorry for people who don’t have a kink. XDDD Having one is wonderful. It makes life more interesting, more exciting, and just… richer. VuV
Gogo can’t quite see that yet. He’s still too focused on what OTHER people might think if they ever found out. Instead, he should focus on what makes HIM happy and simply enjoy it. :D But don’t worry - he learns that lesson surprisingly quickly.
Next up should finally be the NSFW sketch featuring Kraken Derek! On Friday and Saturday I’ll be meeting up with some fellow artists. Ö-ö We’ll see how much work actually gets done… Usually we just spend hours gossiping and don’t draw a single line. XDDD

Wohoooo, it’s black & blue day! :D Diesmal 4 Seiten, aber HOLY SHIT, waren die letzten beiden AUFWÄNDIG. Beide haben um die zehn Stunden gefressen. OTL So viel zu: „Ich freu mich schon aufs Badezimmer, das geht so viel schneller!“ XD
Naja… eher nicht, wenn Derek seine philosophischen Ausflüge unternimmt. XD Keine Ahnung, ob man den Seiten die Arbeitszeit überhaupt ansieht.
Wie gesagt: Ab Band 8 versuch ich mal, ein bisschen zu reduzieren. xD Es soll immer noch gut aussehen, aber einfach ein bisschen schneller gehen, damit auch der Plot etwas zügiger vorangeht. Sonst sitz ich noch 20 Jahre an dieser Story. 🙈 Und irgendwie macht mich das LEICHT nervös, wenn die Leute online so Sachen schreiben wie: „Ist das nicht ‘ne dystopische Sci-Fi-Story??? Wann gibt’s wieder Kämpfe?“ XDDD
Naja… das Ding ist… eigentlich ist das keine dystopische Sci-Fi-Story. Das ist nur das Setting. EIGENTLICH ist das eine Geschichte über… Liebe. :3
Und damit sind wir beim heutigen Update. MANN EY, WIE MICH DAS NERVT, DASS ICH NICHT NOCH EINE SEITE MEHR GESCHAFFT HAB! XD Dann wäre ein Erzählstrang abgeschlossen gewesen (kinda) und etwas richtig Cooles passiert. X,D So müsst ihr jetzt mit dem halben Erzählstrang klarkommen.
Was Derek sagen will: Wir sind glücklich, wenn wir wir selbst sein dürfen. Und wenn andere uns so annehmen, wie wir sind. Egal wie und egal wo. Wir sind nun mal soziale Wesen. Alles, was wir WIRKLICH haben, ist die Verbindung zu anderen.
Und jetzt mal Klartext: Auch wenn das für Leute, die es nicht fühlen, seltsam wirken mag – gerade BDSM ist doch VOLL EXTREM so ein Ort, an dem du dich komplett nackt machst (also jetzt seelisch! XD) und dann dastehst und hoffst, Resonanz und Zuneigung zu finden. Ich finde, das ist eine Aktivität, die das voll auf den Punkt bringt! Wie eine Abkürzung, fast schon ein Cheatcode, um nicht nur ein aufregendes Sexleben zu haben, sondern auch eine Menge über sich selbst und andere Menschen zu lernen. XD Ehrlich gesagt bin ich traurig für alle, die keinen Kink haben. XDDD Es ist so toll, so etwas zu haben, denn es macht das Leben interessanter, aufregender und spannender! VuV
Irgendwie kann Gogo das noch nicht so ganz sehen. Er denkt noch zu viel über ANDERE nach. Darüber, was andere von ihm denken könnten, wenn das rauskäme. Er sollte lieber darauf fokussieren, was IHM guttut und es genießen. :D Aber keine Sorge – er lernt das relativ schnell!
Als Nächstes sollte dann bald mal die NSFW-Skizze mit Kraken-Derek kommen! Freitag und Samstag bin ich mal außer Haus und treffe Zeichnerfreunde. Ö-ö Mal gucken, wie viel wir schaffen werden, wenn wir aufeinandertreffen. Meistens erzählen wir uns nur irgendwelchen Tee und zeichnen keinen Strich! XDDD
