Tiffany's upstart family enjoyed an august lifestyle within the inner circle of Imperial court, assisting the Concert of Magic with sensitive matters. That came to a sudden end when Imperial authorities destroyed the family's private library, expelled them from their posh home at the capital, and arrested her father. He has not been seen since. Humiliated, the family seeks to redeem themselves for whatever wrongs were committed. When no Imperial academy would accept their daughter, they sold many of their remaining possessions to send her to Sonda Nyl. Her unique magic could be their path back into the Empire's gentility.
The Canto of the Crow's Eye is one of several minor schools classified as "codetta insistenza", and is tightly controlled. While other Cantos may conjure fire, water, or life itself, the Crow's Eye transmutes sight. It allows its students to see through solid matter, either from their own eyes or elsewhere. They can peer into minds, memories, and even the future. The possibilities are endless to a master, though there is an extreme risk: The further one wanders, the harder it is to return.
