The day is ending, and I figured it’s finally time to drop a small update. It’s been a while since you heard from me. Especially not hidden under the paywall.
The power situation has gotten even worse. I’d even say catastrophic. That’s exactly why I’ve been silent for so long - there was literally nothing worth reporting. I’m just trying to survive and squeeze in work whenever possible. More than that, the temperatures are still pretty low(-10 to -20 C), and there are tons of snow again... I pray for this winter to finally end. On the bright side, on these rare occasions when my PC does render, it doesn't ovrheat and I can use it to heat the room lol.
Lately, I’ve been focused on preparing the reworked demo version for Steam Next Fest. I’m putting the final touches on it and plan to submit it for review tomorrow. As I mentioned before, I completely reworked all the intro animations and some from Chapter 1. Luckily, I managed to render everything in time despite the constant blackouts. The deadline for demos is the day after tomorrow.
Besides that, I’ve fully revised all dialogues in the intro and Chapters 1–3. I removed most of the obviously bad translations done literally years ago. So now the lines read more naturally, sound better, and even make more logical sense. Each character now also feels more unique. Some dialogues were completely rewritten from scratch, others just had grammar fixes and typos corrected or rephrased.
I’ll return to the remaining scenes and translation script adaptations a bit later. There’s not much left - soon I’ll be able to start actual translations into all the major planned languages. For those who don't know or have forgotten, I'm updating every line of code to enable translation into other languages and to clean the code a bit. Mainly because the game was written in two different languages, which complicates translation work. All scenes starting from Chapter 5 (Previously named Chapter 2: Part Two) are already written in English.
Now, to be completely honest: I haven’t touched Chapter 7 at all in the last two weeks. Simply because it was physically impossible. Preparing the reworked demo for Steam took almost all my time and energy. Even when I had a free moment, I had no real opportunity to work on the main update. Right now, 4 hours of power per day is considered a luxury. Yesterday I got only 2 hours. And often it’s turned on in the middle of the night. There are so many things needed to be done in this short period of time. You can imagine how that affects posing, rendering, and work overall. Tho I doubt that someone can even imagine this.
As soon as the demo is submitted, I’ll jump straight back into the main update. And honestly, we can probably forget about the Christmas special episode for a long time. I also won't work on any rewards this month again. Such as wallpapers, special renders, and customs. So if you planned on upgrading your tier or already pledged hopng to get them, think twice or request a refund. I apologize for that.
Again, despite this rough situation, I’m not giving up, and work is still going strong. Just takes longer.
