A bust commission for - the Devilman himself, Akira Fudo!
Devilman is one of those designs that's received infinite reinterpretations - a lot of artists approach the surface of his body as almost metamorphic and in constant flux. Terada's Devilman portrayals have a kind of almost mineral or sedimentary accumulation of muscular and textural detail. I love reading simple forms and adding knotted muscle, hue variations across the surface of the skin coloration, all sorts of additional imperfections and features.
I like how this came out a great deal, but I think i'll probably keep chasing the perfect devilman design for the rest of my life.
