DESCRIPTION

AN: Sorry, guys. Work had me come in today, but they're giving me tomorrow off. Here's something to help me understand all of Jack's techniques (so far)!

Body Enhancement Technique

Image: The concept of ‘inhaling’, but for his whole body instead of just his lungs. It doesn’t need to be at maximum ‘inhale’, and can be ‘inhaling’ continuously.

Effect: Capable of enhancing his body in all functions. His strength, durability, stamina recovery, speed, and perception are all enhanced beyond human limits. His punches and kicks are capable of putting out more force than he can reasonably lift, even with the enhancement up. May have other effects, but Jack doesn’t know at this point.

Duration: Started out at just a few seconds, but Jack has managed to make it last around 3 and a half minutes at maximum enhancement as of Chapter 15. He can make this last much longer if he uses a lower intensity, and even indefinitely at a certain point.

Downsides: Just as Jack said before, this technique enhances all body functions. All of them. Including his metabolism. This increase in metabolism seems to be inversely proportionate to some degree. At lower intensities the ‘burned calories’ to ‘technique enhancement’ ratio is much higher than the maximum. The maximum still burns more calories than lower intensities, but only twice as much compared to the ‘indefinite’ mode. If Jack isn’t careful, he could accidentally starve himself to death with this technique.

Leaf Sticking Technique

Image: The concept of grasping. Not that of a grasping hand, just of grasping. Like grasping something between the toes, or the teeth, or under your armpit. That type of grasping. Can also grasp multiple light objects by thinking of multiple grasps.

Effect: Capable of sticking an object lighter than yourself to you. Can stick multiple objects to yourself as well. This was meant as just a stepping stone to the Tree Walking Technique, but Jack has learned that it can stick small objects like knives to his waist, or even a long stick to his back. It is a good technique to hold onto items and not worrying about when it might’ve fallen off. You will always know if something is sticking to you or not.

Duration: Depends on the amount of items and how heavy each item is. The strain it puts on his Chakra is negligible, and is more dependent on Jack’s focus. However, Jack feels like it's pretty easy to improve this technique to hold onto many items without thinking about it.

Downsides: It doesn’t have any attacking or defensive use. It is purely a utilitarian technique meant to be a stepping stone for more useful movement techniques like the Tree Walking Technique and the Water Walking Technique. It is more dependent on the user’s focus than Chakra.

Evolutions: Can evolve into multiple techniques, but it is best to turn this technique into the Tree Walking Technique.

Tree Walking Technique

Image: The ‘grasping’ concept of the Leaf Sticking Technique is further enhanced to provide the image of a hand grasping a pen and writing onto a piece of paper. This piece of paper has a desk underneath it filled with notches and small holes. The difficulty is not in how much you write, but if you can write without punching holes in the paper or messing up your writing by following the notches underneath. The better the ‘written words’, the more effective the technique.

Effect: This technique is an evolution of the Leaf Sticking Technique and allows you to ‘walk’ on surfaces that you usually can’t, either because gravity is in another direction or because the surface is slippery. It also seems to have the effect of ‘changing’ gravity to some capacity. The user, should they stand on the side of a tree, don’t feel the difference in rotational force on their body. They should feel like gravity is pulling them to the ground, but it feels like it’s pulling the user towards the tree instead. Other surfaces can also be walked upon, but the more uneven it is the harder it is to use this technique. Thankfully, solid objects are incredibly easy to polish this technique for.

Duration: Definitely can’t use this indefinitely, especially if you’re using other techniques like the Body Enhancement Technique. However, on its own it can be used for hours before the strain is too much on your Chakra.

Downsides: The difficulty of learning this technique requires that you run up a tree to get the full understanding of it. The less time you spend on a surface using this technique, the better you can keep it up. Running on a surface is much better than standing still. You also have to ‘learn’ the ‘pitfalls’ other surfaces have compared to what you’re training on. A tree, however, is the hardest surface to learn that can help you with every other surface.

Evolves From: Leaf Sticking Technique

Evolves Into: Many different techniques, but the best one to learn after this technique is the Water Walking Technique.

Nurturing River Technique

Image: A fairly complex image of an entire planet being nurtured by one river that spans the entirety of it. Then that water is sucked up by the plants and turned into life. The water returns back to the river before long.

Effect: Made to be the solution to the unviableness of low-intensity body enhancement, this technique gives the entire body the ’nutrients’ it needs made completely out of Chakra. This also includes several vitamins, proteins, and natural steroids found in the wild like creatine. This means that the body is at 100% effectiveness at all times, if not more due to everything getting the correct nutrients at the correct time. There may be a long term effect for doing this regularly, but Jack has yet to find out if it’s even a problem or not.

Duration: Can sustain for 30 minutes at the time of creation, but Jack is slowly increasing this with every use.

Downsides: The Chakra recovery is doubled with every full use of this technique. What usually takes 30 minutes to go from ‘fully strained’ Chakra to ‘peak functionality’ Chakra now takes an hour after the first use. Then it doubles again after the second use to a full 2 hours. Third use is 4 hours, and so on and so forth. This only resets after eating an entire meal and three to four hours of digestion.

Jack’s Inisght: “It’s like drinking your own version of super urine. Somehow incredibly nutritious, but each time you do so without just eating regular food, you have to filter out the same waste again.”

Piercing Fang Technique

Image: The concept of a needle slipping between the cracks of concrete or metal. Hitting something that only water has been able to hit.

Effect: Grants anything the user designates as a ‘weapon’ in a special Chakra that weakens an area upon the ‘weapon’ getting close to it. Wood turns into dry clay, stone into cloth, and skin into the equivalent of water. Since this is a sort of ‘aura’ around the ‘weapon’, it affects only the opponent and doesn’t affect the user at all. Plus, the effect comes into play before the ‘weapon’ touches its target.

Duration: Stupidly tiring and mentally hard to focus. Lasts for around 20 to 30 seconds, depending on if the Chakra starts ‘cramping’ or if the user loses focus.

Downsides: As stated before, this technique is stupidly tiring. It’s hard to apply this technique as it needs a split second before activating due to the user concentrating. The best way to get rid of this downside is to simply make it second nature to activate. It’s also hard to use this with other techniques due to how much focus is needed for it.

Evolves Into: Jack doesn’t yet know, but he suspects he can evolve this into something capable of enhancing the ‘weapon’ itself rather than affecting the target/opponent. Maybe even both!
