Encouraged by an MTV producer to watch Catfish to get a better idea of the "unscripted documentary"-style content his company wanted to create with me catching predators, I was alarmed by what seemed to be staged despite being told it was real. From here, my distrust began in a series of emails and a phone call that would mark the fallout of what never was and never will be — a fake predator-catching show starring me. No way.
