I've been thinking about starting something new, and before I do anything I'd like to hear what you all think. Apologies if this sounds stilted or like I'm kind of speaking in code, but I need to be cautious with my wording when I discuss platform rules.I've ended up with a complicated situation where I post most of my gifs on Patreon and I have an external website for things that wouldn't be OK on this site. Due to rules here I can't simply link everything directly, so access to the external site has involved password hints and other awkward workarounds. Even though I'm trying really hard to follow platform rules, there is still some potential risk. It's been messy, but recently I had an idea that might work better.
I've been thinking about setting up a new Deviant Art subscriber area for some of my spicier, weirder work. To be clear, this would NOT replace my Patreon, and it would NOT mean any less content here. My Patreon would continue exactly as it does now, with the same kinds of posts and the same posting frequency. The DA subscriber area would simply be an additional place for content that doesn't fit comfortably within Patreon's guidelines, without all the complicated password folderol for you (or risk for me) that the current external site has. A lot of my more exotic TF ideas (and anything with nudity) would just be no-go's here, but they might have a home on a DA subscriber area. I don't know how often I'd update it, I'd have to see how much demand there was, but the Patreon would remain the first priority and as I said you wouldn't see any difference here. I might also keep the existing external site going as a home for some stuff that went too far for DA.At this point I'm just exploring the idea, and before I spend time setting it up I'd love to know how you feel about it. Would a separate DA subscriber area for that kind of content interest you? What concerns might you have about it?I'm really interested in your thoughts, so please let me know.
