Aegis' aura is actively pushing magical effects away. It would be a gentle push becoming stronger towards the center and reactive towards the speed and power of entrance. It acts like a weaker version of the force fields in Frank Herbert's Dune. For a expert fighter like Aegis, it gives him a supreme edge against other fighters.
