He could hardly have been the main character in a novel or adventure story. But he did not consider his life worthy of being immortalized in the pages of any book.
Ordinary suburb of the not-too-big city of Nevermist, located on the edge of an unremarkable country. The only attractions worth mentioning were the Misty Forest, about which there were many stories, a few old mansions, and the nearby mountains, whose snow-capped peaks were clearly visible in clear weather. A mid-tier university, where he was not particularly popular, and apart from his longtime friend, he only had Blair, who enjoyed teasing him and envied his mathematical talent, and four lovely female friends, with whom he himself did not realize how quickly he had become close. And extremely doubtful prospects of becoming a computer game developer, which he had long dreamed of.
But he had no idea that his peaceful life would soon come to an end. First, his mother disappeared under mysterious circumstances, leaving behind only questions and emptiness in place of family friends, who quickly vanished from his life. Then his father fled abroad, taking out a large loan from an organization with a murky history and not very high standards for borrowers. This made him a debtor to the mysterious and powerful Nexus Corporation, which was not known for forgiving debts.
So he soon found himself on the run, saving his life from the people sent after him by the Corporation. And only his choices and determination will determine whether he can emerge alive from this confrontation.
