DESCRIPTION

Hello, everyone!

Post only for patreons because it includes adult images.

The main addition to this week's update is related to one of the animations featuring Mrs. Bellmere and the continuation of the script.

This week's rendered animation is particularly long, requiring over 80 uninterrupted hours of machine time. This is due to the lighting, which is especially dark and leaves many areas in deep shadow, making it more difficult for the program to render. Conversely, the better-lit scenes are faster to render. This scene is dark for atmospheric purposes and because it better suits the story, but I will certainly try to avoid this in the future, and even more so, avoid making such long animations, as the animation is still rendering as I write this.

Beyond this drawback, I've found a feature of the rendering program that is especially useful while preparing this animation. The Daz3D program, which I use for rendering, has two ways of processing images: with the CPU or with the GPU. The GPU is the most optimal option; it's faster and allows you to use the computer for writing scripts or other lighter tasks (like writing this post) without slowing down rendering time, since using a browser or a text editor primarily requires CPU resources. While it's true that these are relatively few resources, if Daz3D uses the CPU for rendering, it tends to use 100% of it, and using any other program on the computer continuously becomes a real chore.

So, the key to more efficient rendering is for Daz3D to use the GPU, but this isn't always the case. In the renders I've been doing these past few weeks, it always used the CPU, which, besides being slower (and noisier), has the aforementioned drawbacks. Since I was rendering a new scene, I assumed that the reason Daz was using the CPU instead of the GPU was due to some configuration of the motel asset, but that wasn't the case. The hotel asset is particularly detailed, and I've placed it on another asset of a desert road, so the scene ended up being too resource-intensive. In principle, when a scene is rendered, what is rendered is what appears on camera. However, since in this case what appears on camera is part of a larger whole, it also needs to be processed to some extent. Therefore, Daz uses the CPU instead of the GPU due to the large size of the scene. The solution was quite simple once I understood the problem: in the scene editor, only make visible what will appear in the scene. In this case, a motel room and the characters. The rest of the hotel, the road, the car, and everything else are simply hidden as if they didn't exist.

This way, I've managed to reduce the rendering time from 3 hours for every 5000 interactions to forty-five to fifty minutes. It also has the added benefit that the computer can still be used to write scripts, which is the other issue I've been working on.

The script is still being written on Saturday night; I'll finish it this weekend. After catching up on the work I'd lost the previous week (it was more than I initially thought), I've continued writing and revising the script, making small changes that now make more sense than when I originally conceived the scene. On Saturday night, the character will have two options that can affect the number of available scenes. If, after waking up at the campsite, they don't take the "chemical energy," they won't be able to go on their dates with Linda (the maid) or Mrs. Bellmere and will go straight to sleep. On the other hand, if they choose to visit Mrs. Bellmere first, they won't be able to visit Linda afterward, but if they do it the other way around, they'll have both animations. Similarly, if the MC doesn't have enough alpha points when they go to talk to Linda, they'll miss her animation and won't be able to talk to her the following Sunday either.

My plans for next week include finishing the Saturday script and starting the next animation at the motel, as well as a couple of close-up shots for the position change.

Regarding Love in Futa Time 2: The editing of this last chapter still in progress.
