Leaves rustle quietly in the thick canopy over your heads as you travel down a forest path running along the lakeshore. The air is warm and humid, but not unpleasantly so, with a gentle breeze providing relief as you march onwards, hidden in the shade of the trees. Through the bush on your left you see how the sun's reflection dances on the surface of water. It's an idyllic picture, which makes your group seem all the more out of place as you press on with your weapons on the ready; you know better than to let the pretty sights lull your attention.
Before long, the thicket in front of you thins and you approach the edge of the forest. Hidden in the bush, you turn your eyes up the hill; a lone tower sits at the top, overseeing the lake and the surrounding woods. It used to be a part of a small manor, once, but has been abandoned so long ago that few remember whom it belonged to. The house collapsed many winters prior, leaving only the bare foundations and the tower; it has since been repurposed by a group of bandits, who turned it into a small fort. Somewhere therein, within those patchwork walls, hides your target.
