Development Notes - 04/01/2026
Hey everyone! Here are the new features and a look at what’s currently in development for the next major HunterPie update:
Monster Widget
The Monster Widget has been redesigned from scratch. The goal of the new design is to provide a more consistent and clear visual experience.
In addition to the visual overhaul, new settings have been added to give you granular control over what information is displayed. The new options include:
The ability to individually toggle monster type, health, stamina, and weaknesses.
The ability to choose whether ailments and parts are aligned vertically or horizontally.
Monster Hunter World
For those who don't know, breaking a part in MHW requires you to deplete the flinch threshold (the blue bars in HunterPie) a specific number of times depending on the monster.
Up until now, HunterPie displayed part values "as-is," but that changes in v2.14.0. This version introduces Breakable Thresholds (yellow bars) for World. HunterPie will now automatically calculate and display exactly how much damage is required to break a specific part.
Damage Meter Widget
A while ago, a new damage meter design was introduced for Monster Hunter World and Wilds. The migration to this new design is now complete, and Rise is officially using it as well. With this update, a new component has been added to the damage meter: Otomos.
The Otomos section is where your Palico and/or Palamute damage will now be displayed.
Another addition is that the meter can now display true raw damage, elemental damage, and your affinity.
Note: These are currently only supported for Wilds and Rise. Support for World is a work-in-progress due to the complexity of the calculations.
Abnormalities Widget
A new Detailed Mode has been added to the Abnormalities Widget.
Detailed Mode functions similarly to Compact Mode, but it also displays the name of the abnormality. By default, Compact Mode remains enabled.
In addition to the new mode, there are new configuration settings:
You can now configure the number of rows or columns based on the widget's orientation.
Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue where the feature flags tab would remain empty;
Fixed issue where ailment proc count wasn't incrementing for Monster Hunter Wilds;
Fixed issue where support hunters weren't being included in the Hunt Export feature.
