Wow, August, huh? Slack lets me push renew on the links so I haven't been posting them as often. But there are some new folks here and I want to make sure you all can get to the slack. And of course, I could stop here. So could you. But then I'd have to get to work. So what am I up to, you ask?I've been doing a lot of origami (my existing designs) as I signed up to do a little display in the our local library for November. There are two well-lit display cases with clear shelves and a mirrored back. My plan is to fill them with origami octopus, with some jellyfish, snails, and abstract corals and waves to support. I think I'm going to do marine colors (blues, greens, purples) with light pastel colors on top, dark on bottom. Then from left to right I'll transition smoothly from order (symmetric octopus) to chaos (flailing arms). I'm also going to have books, big coffee table books on the bottom shelf, in stacks and open. The order side will have natural history and science books. The chaos side will have origami and art books. Some of the creatures might be reading the books or climbing over them. Oh, and I'm going to hang things from the bottom of the top shelves as well, using magnets. I think the jellyfish will look like they are floating. I wanted to do a mobile but I don't think I can handle that much weight via magnet through a piece of glass. Well, that's what I'm up to. And I should get to work though I really want to go see if I can make a starfish tessell-- wait, Chris is taking me for tiny doughnuts (well, doughnut holes) filled with Nutella.
