Hey, did I tell you I started a second edition for my book? Yep! I'm not really announcing it yet but the first part will be on O'Reilly Safari Early Release in May. And then book will probably be out in October.
So what's new? Chapter 1: Introduction has a new section about maker dev boards (:heart:) Chapter 2: Creating a System Architecture had some changes, getting rid of Hierarchy of Control and adding more explanation. Chapter 3: Getting Your Hands on Hardware added another section about reading schematics as well as fixing some super pesky errors.
That's as far as I've written but I'm planning a major overhaul to Chapter 7: Updating Code to be about IoT systems... Building IoT and Distributed Systems(?). Updating code will be one small section in a chapter about building systems: monitoring lots of devices in the field, dealing with data, encryption and manufacturing, deployment, communication and so on.
And I'm finally adding a repo. But of course I can't just have code like a normal person, it will have all kinds of auxiliary information to go along with the book.
Anyway, while it may sound on the podcast like I've loads of free time, I am quietly work on this. (And on the project sort of accidentally announced on the show this week but also kind of announced in the slack when I asked for volunteers to try it out.)
