DESCRIPTION

One of the larger environments I've made last year. I wanted to make this place a little bit grungy and run-down but not too much that it's dilapidated.

This environment alone is not able to be rendered without culling or disabling certain parts, that's why I chopped this environment up a lot into different sections. We don't need to see the back part of the motel if the camera is at the front, so the back area can be culled easily.

For the render with Hailey wearing the cap. That was very tough to pull off, I had to morph her normal hair to fit correctly underneath the cap and flow out naturally from under there. I had to do a lot of cleaning up in post, but it looks alright.

I was working on motion capture last week. And it is going smoothly. I learned how to consistently get some movement-data, but now I'm learning re-targeting it to my character's armatures. Last time I tried, the animation started flying up into the air and the elbows were mirrored improperly. Once I figure that out, we're in business.

It's actually quite easy to get data and the results are pretty good. It just needs some minor clean ups when the capture can't see parts of my body. Can't wait to show you in the future.

For this week, I've been working on a city environment for Agnes' Coffee Shop. Which will be a neutral environment for a lot of characters to come together and there's also a back area where Agnes lives. A large city environment is finding a balance between quality and performance/size. I don't have infinite disk space and last time I checked, just the city took up to 22GB's. Which is not usable for me.

So that's where were at with that!
