Sorry for my silence last week. I was sick all week, and it felt easier to just not say anything. I know that's a bad habit, and I'm trying to do better, but it can be psychologically difficult sometimes.
Anyway, on to the update!
First, editing progress report: I am almost at the end of the giant list of editing suggestions my publisher gave me. I expect to finish that list today. That still leaves the list of planned changes in my notes, which is much, much shorter but contains more significant things. For example, typical edit suggestions from my publisher are mostly on the order of adding or removing a comma, while my own planned changes include things like expanding Carlos's reasoning for telling his secrets to Amber.
Second, for those of you who especially liked my Skill Unlocker story idea, you'll be happy to hear that I have now come up with the central secret behind the mysteries that the main character of that story would (or will?) be investigating. I might even write the first chapter of it in a break, though I'm not promising anything for that at this point.
Once editing is done, I'm excited to get back into writing Magic is Programming for book 3, but I still have some planning and outlining to do. It's hard to estimate how long that will take, but it'll definitely be at least another week or two before I'm back to actually writing chapters.
I'm almost out of prepared ideas for bonus content in the mean time, but I'm open to suggestions. If I find the time and the mood for it, I may write an intro chapter or two of Skill Unlocker and/or The Power of Heart. I could post my timeline notes of the first two books. And that's all the ideas I have right now. Please comment about anything you would particularly like to see.
And finally, as mentioned in the post title, Ask Me Anything! I will be checking this post and responding to comments frequently today, and at least once per day for the whole week. I won't answer major spoilers, but feel free to indulge your curiosity about whatever.
