Skip this if you don't care about how I spend my Patreon money! I'm just doing this for transparency's sake, so everyone's on the same page here :) (Get it? The image? Transparency...? Cuz the dollar is see-through so... heh)
So, do you remember that my Patreon milestones used to have a thing in parentheses that said something like "Adjusted to include Patreon fees"? Both Patreon AND the money-handling service they use take out something like 5% each from the funds you're gathering each month. So if you got $700, you would receive closer to $600 after the fees. Well (and I forgot they rolled this feature out officially just a little while ago), Patreon very helpfully changed how they display the current dollar amounts so that those percentages already taken out! So what you're seeing on my page right now is what I'm actually getting (taking out also the couple of cards that get declined each month... and the amount displayed is also pre-taxes as well!)
So you might be thinking "Wait, then why didn't you change those to be cheaper too, then?" And it's because when I made those money estimates, one of my student loans wasn't in repayment yet AND also I didn't have a hefty medical bill also being slowly repaid, monthly-style :\ So really, despite getting that money "back" from the percentage adjustment, I'm losing it to those new debts anyway, sadly. So the milestone amounts are remaining the same on account of those new expenses now existing!
Okay, hope I explained everything in a way that makes sense D: And I hope you guys are still on-board with all this Patreon business! Thanks eternally for all your help <3
