It's okay, don't worry!! A lot of you have been concerned about why I was giving out refunds this month, and here's why!
Everyone got double-charged for April!
This is a confirmed glitch on Patreon's behalf, not a misclick of mine or anything! As a result, everybody -- from the $1 buddies to the $15+ buddies, -- gave me their pledge TWICE! Whoops!
I refunded to the best of my ability (there is no "mass refund" option for mistakes like this), so PLEASE contact me if I missed you and you still got double-charged! I had to manually refund 130ish people very tediously, by clicking "refund" one person at a time, so it's certainly possible that I might have missed someone while scrolling through that big list.
The nitty gritty of exactly what happened:
I'm a Pay-Per-Month Creator, not a Pay-Per-Post Creator. People who pledge to me are charged only once, at the end of each month. Somehow, Patreon glitched so that one of my completely normal weekly stream-related posts became a "Paid Post." This is something I didn't notice until the cards got charged because why would I? This had never happened before! It couldn't possibly have been a misclick, because you have to really dig into Patreon's settings to even find the option to switch over like that. I contacted Patreon Support and they confirmed that it was definitely a weird glitch on their end.
Needless to say, I was a little hesitant to make a post about it because what if the new post I made also charged people? lol. The problem seems to be cleared up though, sorry for the weird inconvenience and sorry to spook people with the refunds! Again, please contact me if your refund hasn't gone through!
