(Photo: Wessex Archaeology)Today, archaeologists announced the discovery of a remarkable 5,000-year-old ceremonial site near Stonehenge that may represent the earliest known alignment with the summer and winter solstices in the Stonehenge landscape - predating the famous stone monument itself by around 500 years.
Phil led the excavations, and we were incredibly fortunate to sit down with him to hear the story behind this extraordinary discovery which, as Phil says:
“Is probably one of the greatest finds of my career.”
