We’re delighted to unveil the 2026 Time Team Flag of Fame!
We couldn’t wait to take this year’s flag to the Northern Isles, where many of the Time Team crew are currently hard at work on live archaeological excavations. So, who better to do the honours than John Gater?
Join him as he unboxes the 2026 Flag of Fame and proudly raises it in one of the UK’s most spectacular archaeological and geographical locations!
As many of you will know the flag features the names or dedications of thousands of our members who make Time Team possible. Whether or not you opted to include your name on the flag (or have joined since the offer closed), we thank you all!
For those of you who visit us at the Ness of Brodgar site this year of future sites keep ay eye out for it. Do share your photos with us if you spot your name or dedication!
To make it easier to find your name or dedication, we've also created a PDF version of both types of flags that we feature on site with searchable text. These are available to view and search here:
Hint - These are best viewed on Google Chrome web browser for the text to be searchable. It might take a couple of minutes to load and focus (it's a big design) so please give it a moment! You should be able to search for text in your internet browser, by holding down ctrl/cmd + F, then start writing the name in the search box (steps may vary depending on device/browser used).
INTERACTIVE FLAG!
Our brilliant Matt Clark from Shadow Tor Studios has also produced an explorable 3D (ish) model which is available to visually explore on Sketchfab HERE. We'd first recommend using the PDF versions linked above though to search for your name.

Give it a moment to load and enjoy looking around - Controls will be dependant on the device you are viewing on but you will need a good internet connection for it to work. Generally you click to turn, scroll or pinch to zoom and pan. Turn with Left Mouse click and drag. Click hold and drag middle mouse to move about. Double click a spot to zoom into a particular spot.
Don't worry if you didn't make it on to this year's flag. Keep an eye out for the next opportunity in 2027.
Please note: To have been included on the 2026 Flag of Fame, you will have needed to opt-in and provide the specific name or dedication, via the entry form posted on Patreon in the allocated timeframe, with an active membership of Digger tier or above. As noted in that original post (to follow GDPR guidelines and to enable members to choose the name or dedication included), members must opt-in for each new flag every year, and names do not automatically carry over from a previous year's flag. Chosen names or dedications are rendered on the flag exactly as provided to us via the option box on the original form (with the exception of unrecognisable characters, duplicate or inappropriate entries, at Time Team's sole discretion).
