“I get your desire to ride that thing—it’s sick—but you have to keep in mind the electricity is channeled along the ridge of its back into the horn. If you try to tame the lightning, you’ll end up with scars in unpleasant places.”
— Likten Burg, Rider of Storms
Thundering hooves beat in harmony with a thundering sky above as a fulgurhorn charges across the windswept coastline. With every heavy footfall, grains of sand crystallise into tiny slivers of glass that are hurled into the air, swirling up into the storm and glimmering in unison with each flash of lightning.
Lightning Rod. Fulgurhorns prefer wide open spaces like deserts, flat plains, and long stretches of coast. By raising their conductive horns high, they become natural, roaming beacons for lightning. Channeled correctly, the massive current does no harm, and charges their capacitor-like organs with crackling energy.
Shock Value. Despite their equine appearance, fulgurhorns are strict carnivores. They use the captured electricity of thunderstorms to hunt, releasing bursts across their body to electrify their muscles with unnatural speed, strike flying prey with long range bolts, and call new storms to flush small creatures out from flooded dens.
