The empire of Nerathis ended in disaster after centuries of reckless alchemy, war, and unrestrained industry left the seas around its capital poisoned and corrupted. Dead fish choked the waves, trade collapsed, and famine spread through every harbour town. In desperation to save his people, the mage-king Thalyros turned to artifice and biomancy. His biomancers bred a coral lattice, seeded with spellwork, that could draw the taint from water and render it harmless.

This adventure, Scourge of the Coral Hive, is intended for 3 to 7 characters and is optimised for a party of 4 with an average party level (APL) of 6, 11, or 16. Characters who complete this adventure should earn enough experience to progress one-third of the way to level 7, two-thirds of the way to level 12, or two-thirds of the way to level 17, respectively. The adventurers must investigate the sudden appearance of coral islands and vanquish a parasitic hivemind that hides beneath the water.
