Hideously out of date drinks? We got 'em! We wish we didn't, but we got 'em!
There's a story behind this one. Barry came over in September 2023 and we recorded some videos as planned for his channel. Afterwards we had some time so I had the idea to shoot a video for Patreon covering some very old drinks I had. All well and good except...
It was raining slightly, getting a bit dark, and I didn't think it would be a problem. Friends, it was a MASSIVE problem. The main camera footage mostly stood up, but the second camera for close-ups was not good. And the audio was dreadful, entirely drowned out by annoying thudding noises of rain hitting the conservatory roof and untouchable by audio filters etc. The footage was basically unusable, and the drinks were gone forever.
Except! Well over a year later I've only gone and bloody fixed it. The main camera angle is pretty much spot-on now, the close-up camera is decent (super-close-ups are a bit nasty but mercifully brief) and the audio has been reconstructed. The only thing I couldn't sort is the laughter - it sounds hollow and weird, like the cackling of a demonic creature or something. But as it could be years before the technology exists to fix it, I think it's good enough to fire off into the world now.
