Since this is a WIP comic, the 1st image has no text! BUT the FINAL ones DOES. If you are a purist - and want to see the comic as intended when it's done, don't sneak past the 3 pages preview (shared for funzies), and avoid reading the final contact sheet with all the text on it. I'm sharing it, more as a... proof of work, ha. Maybe don't read any comments by other supporters this week too... IDK.
So... as you all can see... this one keeps getting away from me, and I keep overrrrr-doing it. The process for this has been very different than usual: Just me doodling faces and reactions, without much of a plan. Over-drawing and then tryiiiiing to figure out a script that could take all the art, and squeeze in conversational bubbles where I could make it all fit and make kinda sence in the end. A drawing-first comic process... that I think has been fun - but not - how I'd ever recommend to anyone. It's led to WAY more work than initially intended. For comparison, the previous holiday party, which is a very similar story to this one, was 5 pages - that's how lean you can edit and trim down to during the script and layout phase.
I realllllly thought I'd have time to finish this this weekend, but the background sketches are going to need a full day more, and then it still needs tweaks when I put that stuff in. Then lord-help-me, the single panels need constructing... One more week; it'll bring the time committed to this as 5 weeks? With 2 of those weeks being more-full-time than the other 3. When I look at it as a whole, I thinnnnk, this is a good result for 5 weeks? But gosh, when I started, I thought it would only be 2 ha. I really hope you've all enjoyed it so far - I appreciate all of you who were game to let me give it a chance. I'm suppppper keen to get back to the main story, and I've been dreaming up ways to maybe shorten the current chapter...
Something for the higher tiers to answer: what's a good title for this two comics?
